Online Giving Policy
Online Giving Policy
Effective date: May 4, 2026
Masonville-Rancocas United Methodist Church is grateful for the generosity of those who support its mission, ministries, worship, outreach, and community life. This Online Giving Policy explains how online gifts are accepted, processed, receipted, and administered through this website and related giving tools.
Giving methods
The Church may accept online donations, tithes, offerings, event payments, or designated gifts through Tithe.ly or other approved giving tools connected to the website. Depending on the provider's features, gifts may be made by credit card, debit card, ACH or bank transfer, recurring gift setup, text-to-give, or other electronic methods made available by the Church.
Donor information
When a donor gives online, the Church or its giving provider may collect the donor's name, email address, mailing address, phone number, donation amount, fund designation, and payment-related details needed to complete the gift and issue appropriate records. Payment card or bank information is generally processed by the giving platform or payment processor and is not stored directly by the Church unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Use of donations
Online gifts are used to support the ministries, operations, outreach, missions, benevolence efforts, facilities, staffing, and approved programs of Masonville-Rancocas United Methodist Church, consistent with donor designation where applicable. If a gift is designated for a specific fund or purpose, the Church will make reasonable efforts to use the gift as designated, but reserves the right to redirect funds if the original purpose becomes unnecessary, impractical, unlawful, or impossible, subject to applicable law and Church governance.
Recurring gifts
Donors may have the option to create recurring gifts. Donors are responsible for reviewing the amount, schedule, and payment method selected and may update or cancel recurring gifts through Tithe.ly or by contacting the Church, subject to the platform's processing timelines.
Processing fees
Online gifts may be subject to processing fees charged by third-party providers. If the giving platform allows donors to cover processing fees, donors may choose to do so voluntarily. Any such feature should be clearly disclosed at the point of giving.
Refunds
As a general policy, donations are considered final and are not automatically refundable once processed. However, Masonville-Rancocas United Methodist Church will review refund requests on a case-by-case basis in the event of duplicate transactions, incorrect amounts, mistaken gifts, unauthorized use, or technical processing errors. Refund requests should be submitted promptly using the contact information below.
Receipts and records
The Church will generally provide an electronic confirmation or receipt for online gifts. Year-end contribution statements, where applicable, may be issued according to the Church's regular recordkeeping practices and applicable tax rules.
Security and third-party processing
Online donations may be processed through third-party services such as Tithe.ly that maintain their own privacy and security practices. Donors should review the privacy policy and terms of the relevant giving provider if they want more information about data handling, account security, and payment processing.
